Brett Minchington, World Employer Branding Day Founder, announced at the launch of "Employer Brand Excellence-A Case Study Approach Volume V" today that World Employer Branding Day is returning to a LIVE & IN-PERSON event in Lisbon in October 2022. 3 June 2021

We are planning to return to an in-person event in 2022 and the timing (May/June or Oct/Nov) and format will be dependent on a number of factors such as travel and venue restrictions forecast at the time of the event.

One thing that has become evident during the pandemic is that the landscape can change quickly and as such we are developing a number of scenarios which will support a return to an in-person event for World Employer Branding Day in 2022.

The 2020 virtual event was an incredible edition to organize and more than 1200 leaders from 59 countries participated and engaged with 95 International Speakers and 60 of the World's leading employer branding agencies and service providers. While technology played an important part, it's the partners and leaders that are truly committed to the advancement of the global industry that came together to make it such a memorable event.

We have received a lot of encouraging feedback over the past 6 months about returning World Employer Branding Day to a global in-person event and it’s promising to see in-person events are starting to return in many countries. The early signs have been very encouraging. It is evident venues are taking all precautions and have plans in place to ensure a great experience for everyone.
Later this year in Q4, we will provide an update on our plans for World Employer Branding Day 2022.

It’s been pleasing to see the way in which the industry has responded and adapted to the many challenges the pandemic has brought. Let’s hope many of the major challenges are behind us and the northern summer brings a steady return to better market conditions for the rest of 2021/2022.

PS
We have recently launched a new edition of “Employer Brand Excellence-A Case Study Approach Volume IV,” the most recent IV edition was published at World Employer Branding Day 2019. There are so many great case studies that have emerged since the onset of the pandemic and it is timely to bring them together in a new publication.

World Employer Branding Day 2020 | Virtual

6 August 2020

After careful consideration, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic’s current trajectory in many countries where our attendees live, along with ongoing concerns over public health, government and corporate travel restrictions for speakers, partners and delegates, it is making it impossible and impractical for a physical event for World Employer Branding Day in 2020.

To ensure we can continue to plan and deliver a world class event for all attendees, the 5th edition of World Employer Branding Day will be conducted as a virtual event on the same dates, 4-5 November 2020.

If you have already registered for World Employer Branding Day 2020, your registration carries over automatically to the virtual conference. Please check your email for the notification sent today with further information about the event.

We are expanding the agenda and format for the International Summit on 5 November with additional speakers, interactive sessions and new ways to connect with your peers, speakers and event partners and will begin releasing the expanded agenda in mid-September.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our partners, speakers and global community for their support and patience over the past 6 months. While we understand everyone will miss the gathering of our community in person this year, we believe this is the best approach for the safety and well-being of our global audience. It will also allow everyone access to the latest industry trends and developments and the opportunity to network 1-1 or in groups with leaders from the world’s top employer brands and agencies without the uncertainty of health and travel restrictions that have shown can change at short notice.

Our event team and Partners have been working hard since August 2019 to deliver a memorable World Employer Branding Day 2020 experience. Our dedication is unwavering and we are focused on providing the same great event, industry insights and connections with the world’s top employer branding leaders and agencies. Along with the support of our 60+ Global Partner Network and broader community, we look forward to coming together in November to ‘Shape the New Era of Employer Branding.’

World Employer Branding Day 2020 Format

21 July 2020

We are continuing to monitor for changes in recommendations about events and travel from the World Health Organisation and local health and government offices as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The safety and wellbeing of delegates, speakers and partners is at the forefront of our planning decisions for the event. Furthermore, we want to ensure there is sufficient planning time for everyone to make the most of their World Employer Branding Day 2020 experience and we plan to make a decision in early August about whether the event can continue as a LIVE event or whether a hybrid (LIVE & virtual) or virtual event will be necessary given the status of the pandemic and guidance from the relevant government and health authorities at that time.

A Message to our World Employer Branding Day Community

18 March 2020

It is with great sadness, we announce the postponement of World Employer Branding Day 13-15 May 2020 | Lisbon.
We have concluded the global outbreak of COVID-19 places us in a Force Majeure situation.

This follows the Portuguese Government’s decision on 15 March 2020 to prohibit the holding of events with more than one hundred people as part of the measures to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

The decision also follows concerns that a number of our international speakers, partners and delegates face an exceptional number of government and corporate travel bans and/or restrictions as a result of COVID-19 and many speakers have recently advised they are unable to participate as a result of this.

We have been working hard over the past year to present a memorable 5th edition of the event. Our commitment is still to deliver this in 2020 and ensure the industry is able to rebound quickly from a situation that is impacting us all.

We’re planning a revised date for World Employer Branding Day for November 2020 and are in contact with our venue partners to announce a new date as soon as possible. We thank you for your understanding as we work through logistics as quickly as possible. Once the new dates have been confirmed, a further announcement will be made on/or before 1 April.

We are grateful for our community’s support, especially at this exceptionally challenging time for everyone. Please be safe and take care of each other.
